Marimari Styling

Oggi voglio parlarvi di Marimari Styling una giovane talentuosa Fashion Stylist, Art Director Italiana, che ho avuto il piacere di conoscere durante la mia vacanza a Dublino. E così l’ho intervistata per Voi 🙂

Sono Marì Paduano, una Fashion Stylist, Art Director Italiana, che vive a Dublino. Sono arrivata qui più di 5 anni fa per migliorare il mio Inglese e alla fine ho trovato la mia strada nel mondo della moda. L’Irlanda è divenuta la mia seconda terra, The Green Land.

Da quando ero piccola sono stata immersa tra ago, filo, stoffe e sfilate, perché mamma è una sarta professionista. Sapevo che la moda era nel mio sangue, nel mio DNA, ma non avevo ancora capito bene, cosa fare da grande…poi qui a Dublino tutto è diventato più chiaro. Appena arrivata a Dublino, ho fatto la ragazza alla pari per 9 mesi, poi ho trovato lavoro in Barclays, ma dentro di me sapevo che quello in banca non era il lavoro per me…così ho iniziato a frequentare la Limperts Academy ed ho ottenuto un Diploma in Image Consulting & Fashion Styling. La mia insegnante è stata Sinead Doyle una delle designer più importanti e brave del panorama irlandese. Ricordo ancora come fosse ieri il mio ultimo esame: organizzare un servizio fotografico. Potete immaginare? E’ vero, si avevamo studiato per farlo, ma ora il sogno stava diventando realtà…capire il concept, fare i moodboards, cercare i modelli, il fotografo, il parrucchiere, la truccatrice, i vestiti….tutto da sola, è stato pesante ma bellissimo. Se hai passione nulla è impossibile. Così il carrozzone ha preso forma, ho fatto il mio primo servizio:

Today I would like to introduce you Marimari Styling, a young talent Fashion Stylist, Italian Art Director that I have met in Dublin during my holiday. So I have intervew her for you 🙂

I’m Marì Paduano, a Fashion Stylist, Italian Art Director and now I’m living in Dublin. I’ve arrived here more than 5 years ago to improve my English, but I found out my way on the fashion system. So Ireland has become my second home, The Green Land.

When I was child I grew up between needles, thread, fabrics and fashion show because my mum is a professional seamstress. I knew that Fashion was in my blood and DNA, but I still didn’t know what I would have done when I grown-up. But here in Dublin everything became clearer to me. At the beginning I worked 9 months as Au Pair girl , then I worked in Barclays but I knew that it wasn’t for me. So I started at Limperts Academy where I had my Image Consulting & Fashion Styling degree. Sinead Doyle, my teacher, is one of the most important expert designer in the Irish scenery. I still remember my final exam: a photo shoot. Can you imagine? Of course, we studied to do it and now my dream was becoming true… to understand the concept,to do moodboards,to find out models, the photographer, the hairstylist, the make-up artist, the dresses… everything by myself. It has been hard but just wonderful. If you have the passion everything is possible. So the bandwagon started and I did my first photo-shooting:

E poi da li ho iniziato a fare servizi fotografici, non frequenti purtroppo, perché continuando a lavorare in ufficio non avevo tantissimo tempo libero. Qui sotto un esempio:

So I started doing photo-shooting. They was not so frequent because I still worked at Barclays and I didn’t have much free-time. Here below an example:

Poco per volta sono riuscita ad ottenere la mia pubblicazione, in un giornale irlandese, ben 8pagine centrali! L’emozione è stata immensa, ritrovare per la prima volta il tuo nome su un giornale, una gratificazione enorme per tutto il lavoro che c’era dietro. Ricordo ancora la telefonata ai miei genitori appena ho comprato il giornale, piangevo dalla gioia, il sogno stava diventando realtà, si realtà!!! Inch by inch finally, I had my first printing, on Irish magazine with 8 central pages! You can imagine my excitement to see my name on the magazine for the first time, a great satisfaction for all my work. I still remember the chat that I had with my family, I cried tears of happiness, because my dream has became true!!! Poi nell’ultimo anno ho collaborato con Ruth, la titolare del mio negozio preferito qui a Dublino, una piccola boutique indipendente Om Diva, Atelier 27. Più che essere semplici collaboratrici a livello lavorativo, siamo diventate amiche così come con Caiomhe Keane. Qui alcune foto di un lavoro fatto per il negozio:

During last year I have collaborated with Ruth, the owner of my favorite shop in Dublin. It is Om Diva Atelier 27 a litte independent boutique. Ruth and I are friends now. And with Caiomhe Keane too. Here below some pictures of the shooting that I made for the Shop.

Che dire….non è stato facile riuscire a mettersi in gioco a 30 anni, ma qui in Irlanda hanno ancora quell’entusiasmo e quella voglia di credere nelle persone e nel futuro, che forse noi abbiamo perso, e poi non c’è proprio il pensiero che dietro tutto ci possa essere una fregatura. Anche se non conosci ma sei bravo, caparbio, capace, con passione per quello che fai, allora ce la puoi fare e puoi dire grazie a te stesso in primis e poi a tutte le persone che ti sono sempre state vicine, nel mio caso la mia famiglia e i miei cari amici. A breve il mio ufficio bancario chiuderà e spero di riuscire a lavorare a 360° nella moda.

So...it was not easy for me at 30 years old, but here in Ireland people still has the passion and the desire to believe in the others and in the future. Probably in Italy people has lost this capability. And furthermore there isn’t the idea that behind everything there could be a fraud. Even though you don’t know but if you are good in your job, obstinate, able, you have passion for what you do, so you can do it and you can say thank to yourself and to the people that have always support you, like my familiy and my friends. Soon my bank office will be closed so I hope to have to opportunity to work in fashion system full time.
